Sandbar Lane is a neighbourhood cafe a short walk from Scarborough beach, with a shaded garden out the back. Coffee roasted locally, breakfast until the afternoon, sandy feet welcome. Dogs too, in the garden.

A word from the counter

We opened the cafe because the street needed one, and we kept the garden because the regulars would not let us pave it. It is the kind of place where the person making your coffee knows how you take it by the second week. Breakfast runs long because mornings at the beach do. The kitchen cooks simple food properly: good eggs, good bread, a salad with something in it. Kids get crayons, dogs get water, and the wifi password is on the board. Come after a swim. We have seen wetter.

Questions

Do you take bookings?

For groups in the garden, yes. Otherwise walk in and grab a table.

Can I bring my dog?

In the garden, yes, on a lead. There is a water bowl by the tap.

Do you do coffee for events?

We can set up a coffee cart for local events and morning teas. Get in touch with the date and we will see what we can do.
