DispatchWeb
Perth—:—AWSTBuild your brief

Good work in the community deserves a website that works.

Dispatch Web improves existing websites, or builds new ones, for organisations that make a real difference in Perth and Western Australia. Profit or not-for-profit does not matter. Impact does.

Tell us about your organisation

Who this is for

Organisations whose website is holding back the work, and who could not otherwise fund a commercial build.

  • Not-for-profits, charities and community groups serving people in WA.
  • Social enterprises and small for-profits whose core business is community benefit: disability services, community health, education, environment, sport and recreation, arts, First Nations organisations.
  • Clubs and associations run by volunteers who cannot keep a website alive on top of everything else.
  • Anyone with a site that is slow, hacked, inaccessible or impossible to update, where fixing it would free up time and money for the actual mission.

What we do

Two kinds of job. Both run across the same board as our commercial builds, to the same standard.

Improve the existing site

Make what you have fast, safe and usable.

  • Speed and hosting: move to a global edge network, cut load times, kill the plugin treadmill.
  • Accessibility: contrast, keyboard operation, screen-reader labels, plain language.
  • Security: clean-up after a compromise, hardened headers, no more patching.
  • Content: fix what is broken, make the important pages findable, wire up a working contact form.

Build a new site

When nothing usable exists.

  • A custom-built, mobile-first site that says what you do and how to help.
  • Hosting, SSL, DNS cut-over, analytics and a spam-protected contact form.
  • A simple way to update it yourselves, if you want one.
  • Handover notes in plain words so the next volunteer can pick it up.

How it runs

Plainly, because your time is the scarce thing.

  1. Tell us about the organisation. The short form below. Who you help, what the site does today, what is wrong.
  2. We reply within two business days. An honest answer: yes, not now, or here is what we would do instead.
  3. A 30-minute call. Scope, what stays, what goes, who signs off.
  4. The build crosses the board. You see progress as it lands and get two rounds of feedback.
  5. Launch and handover. Live on your domain, documented, with hosting we run.

What we ask, and what we cannot promise

Community builds run alongside commercial work, and we will tell you plainly if we cannot fit yours in. We ask for one point of contact who can make decisions, content or the people who hold it, and, if you are willing, permission to talk about the work once it is live. Domain registration and third-party services stay in your name and on your account.

How community builds are priced is still being settled, and we will tell you before anything starts. We do not run fundraising or grant applications, and we do not build ecommerce platforms or member databases; for those we will point you to people who do.
