Larkspur is a small dining room on a Leederville side street. The menu changes with the markets and the kitchen's mood. Expect wood smoke, good bread, vegetables treated with respect and a wine list that leans West Australian.
Wednesday to Sunday from 5.30pm Leederville WA
From the kitchen
The room holds a handful of tables, a marble bar and the smell of the wood oven, which starts warming at three each afternoon. By six the bread is out and the coals are ready. The kitchen cooks the way we like to eat: a few things, done well, brought out when they are ready rather than when the clock says. Produce comes from growers we know, mostly within a day's drive. The wine list is short and changes often. Come early for a glass at the bar, stay for the lamb, and let dessert take as long as it takes.
