The way we practise
We keep the practice small on purpose. The solicitor you meet at the first appointment is the solicitor who runs your matter, and you can reach them directly. We write advice in plain English, with the risks stated rather than buried, and we say early when a course of action is not worth its cost. Fees are scoped before we begin. If a matter changes shape, we tell you before the change reaches the bill. We would rather lose a piece of work than surprise a client with an invoice. It is a slower way to build a firm. We think it is the right one.
Other practice areas
Business sale and purchase
Due diligence, contracts and settlement for buying or selling a business.
Commercial leasing
Leases for tenants and landlords, from heads of agreement to renewal.
Property and conveyancing
Residential and commercial settlements, subdivisions and off-the-plan contracts.
Wills and estate planning
Wills, enduring powers of attorney and structures for family assets.
Dispute resolution
Negotiation and mediation first; litigation when it is the right course.
Questions
Is the first appointment free?
The first appointment is a fixed-fee consultation, and we tell you the fee when you book. If we take the matter on, that fee is credited against the agreed scope.
Do you act for both sides of a business sale?
No. We act for one party only, so the advice you receive is entirely yours.
Can we work with you remotely?
Yes. Documents can be signed electronically and most meetings can be held by video, though we are happy to see you in the office.
