The Tallow Room is a dim, unhurried bar in Northbridge. Cocktails made properly, a back bar of whisky and amaro, cold beer for people who want cold beer. Open late, no televisions, no DJs, no queue theatre.
About the room
The room used to be a candlemaker's workshop, which explains the name and the faint smell that never quite left the brick. We kept the walls, sanded the floor and built a bar long enough to lose an evening at. The idea was simple: a place to have a proper drink without shouting, and to be left alone if that is what you came for. The bartenders know the list and will not perform it at you. The lights are low because it is night. If you want to see your drink, we have candles. Naturally.

Questions
Do you take bookings?
For groups, yes. Otherwise walk in and take your chances, which are usually good.
Is there a dress code?
No. Come as you are, within reason.
Can we hire the room?
Yes, for a whole night or the early part of one. Send us the date and a rough headcount and we will send back what it costs.
